Day 1: Tashkent
We are glad to see you in Uzbekistan. On arrival, you will have the city tour and visit Independence square placed as a symbol of victory over fascism in World War II. We will have a walk along the local Broadway and see Tashkent metro. The next destination is visiting the old part of the city as Chorsu Bazaar, Kukaldash Madrasah and Hast Imam complex that contains of some madrasahs, mosques and mausoleum. The main sight of Uzbekistan is the Othman Quran. It is the world's oldest Quran of the 8th century. This book belonged to Othman Ibn Affan, the Third Caliph but he was killed by non-muslims in 8th century. Night is in a hotel.
Day 2: Tashkent - Samarkand (350 km, 4 hrs drive)
In the morning we will travel to Samarkand. Samarkand is situated in the valley of the river Zerafshan and also it is the second largest city of Uzbekistan the same as Babylon or Rome. Today you will have a city tour and visit the Registan square, Shakhi Zindeh, Mausoleum Guri Emir and Bibi Khanum Mosque. Registan Square will impress you by the three captivating Madrasahs of the 15-17th centuries. Shakhi Zindeh signifies a rich collection of mausoleums dating back to 11th-15 centuries (UNESCO World Heritage Site). Bibi Khanum Mosque is dedicated to the Tamerlane's wife, after his effective campaign in India. Overnight is in a hotel.
Day 3: Samarkand - Yurts camp of Nurata (310 km, 4 hours)
Today is transfer to a small town of Nurata, situated in the foothills of Nuratau Mountains. It was founded by Alexander the Great in 4th century BC. According to archeological digs the cultural layer in this area reaches the age of 40 thousand years. On arrival you will have a sightseeing tour that includes the Khasan Khuseyn Mosque, blacksmith's and potter's workshops and a holy pond with sacred fishes, a place for pilgrimage by Muslim worshipers in Nurata. Visit the Medressa of Sheihun Hasan Nury, Namazgokh Mosque and remnants of so called "Alexander the Great's Fortress". Night is in a yurt camp.
Day 4: Nurata - Samarkand
In the morning travelers will have two-hour camel tour to Aydarkul lake. It is a wonderful lake stretching for 250 km along the desert. Don't moss to try freshly cooked fish for a lunch, reduce, swim in warm, somewhat salted water and sun bath on the charming bank. You will drive to Samarkand over route stop over at Sariamish stone paintings where you can see more 3 000 pictures were exposed here, on black basalt rocks-petroglyphs showing animals, people, hunting scenes, lifestyle and even love scenes. Overnight is in a hotel.
Day 5: Samarkand - Tashkent (350 km, 4.5 hrs)
Early in the morning is transfer to Tashkent. First you will visit Courage Monument which is a memorial complex, erected in honor of the elimination of the consequences of the Tashkent earthquake. Then the tour continues to Zangi Ota memorial complex. According to legend, Zangi-Oota was a shepherd and distinguished for his wisdom and good deeds. The city tour will be completed by visiting the State Museum of Applied Arts of Uzbekistan, consisting of fine examples of glasses and national clothing, hand and machine embroidery, skullcaps and national fabrics, carpets and woodcarving. Night is in a hotel.
Day 6: Tashkent - Flight
Transfer to airport. Have a safe flight!
